Brogans London Review
Brogans is featured in these Guides:
First off I must be clear that the proprietor of Brogan’s is in no shape or form related to myself, despite us having the same surname. Now that I’ve clarified that, I cannot be accused of biasness, for Brogan’s is just what you hope from an Irish pub. With it’s vibrant atmosphere, Irish ales, and traditional ‘Emerald Isle’ menu, Brogan’s is a short walk from Fulham Broadway tube station, although upon entering, it will feel as though you’ve walked straight into the heart of Dublin. With a varied clientele of the post-office crowd, couples enjoying a relaxed chinwag, or those just wanting a bit of ‘me’ time with a pint and the paper, Brogan’s caters for all tastes.
Having recently introduced a new extensive menu, you’ll have feasibly finished your pint before deciding what to go for. The staff were both friendly and happy to advise on the difficult decision of what to go for. On this occasion, we started with the loaded potato wedges with cheese and bacon (£3.95), as well as a side dish of some tasty onion rings (£1.95). Washed down with a couple of pints of Caffreys, it was onto the mains. The rib eye steak (£7.95) was cooked to perfection, and the green peppercorn sauce only enhanced the dish, whilst no trip to an Irish pub would be complete without trying the traditional Irish stew (£6.75). Neither disappointed.
The wooden décor of Brogan’s is basic, but fits the bill. The bar takes center stage quite literally, with access to it from all four sides of the pub. TV screens mean all the major sporting events are shown, and with a late license on Thursday (open until Midnight), Friday and Saturday (open until 1am), extensive wine list, not forgetting the choice of roasts on Sunday, Brogan’s offer something for everyone. It’s also got a great name.
