Bar and good restaurant rolled into one, Cicada is a warm and radiant space, which has to cater to a mix of city boys and Clerkenwell trendies simultaneously. A large, glass front looks in on the leather furnished bar area, where drinks are good. The restaurant is set on a raised platform, keeping it separate from the bar, but allowing it to feed off the relaxed vibe. Downstairs, the Red Room offers an ideal destination for exclusive private dining and drink reception events. There’s also some pavement space for alfresco eating & drinking.

Cicada offers the very best in pan-Asian cuisine with influences from China, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan. The combination of rare and fresh ingredients with tasteful presentation offers diners a welcoming and stylish atmosphere with some of the best food in London. Open for lunch and dinner, Monday to Saturday, guests can enjoy an a la carte meal in the restaurant or a selection of dim sum from the bar.
Converted from an old bullion building, Cicada opened in 1996 and was the founding property in the Ricker Restaurant group. Originally planned as an Asian Canteen, Cicada quickly became a pan-Asian restaurant and bar to better suit the demands of its Clerkenwell neighbours. Throughout its history, Cicada has long been a local favourite, whilst also drawing a wider crowd from across the City.
The restaurant at Cicada can accommodate groups of up to twenty and the private dining room up to 36 guests and has alfresco dining on the terrace during the summer months.

“Amazing restaurant. One of my all-time favourites in London. Unbelievable chilli-salt squid, the large salads (such as the rare beef and the warm duck) are equally amazing. Very good service and a vibrant but relaxed atmosphere.”
