Ember is a stylish, chilled out bar that can equally be relaxed or come to life. Set in the 'media' centre of Farringdon, Ember is the perfect place to go and meet up with friends and chill on the sofa or wooden seats. Orange and purple light boxes on the wall add atmosphere to the brickwork and wooden floors.
Open late Wednesday through to Saturday; the bar gets busy fairly late on in the night. A club night held on Saturday (Tuckshop) in the main bar (maximum capacity of 200) holds a DJ night until 2 in the morning. This provides an opportunity for the Farringdon party people to dance the night away. Ember is also the perfect place for a function at the weekends with the downstairs bar holding a capacity for a further 100.
You can also eat outside on the patio, or sip on a hot drink in the day. With a nice open front, there is enough room to stand about chatting if all of the seats are already taken. Ember is placed a short walk from the Farringdon tube, making it a good destination to come and relax in, whether you are part of the after work crowd or conveniently in the Farringdon area.

“What is it with bars round Farringdon that they have such fire related names - Ember? Dust?
Granted Ember picked up a group booking at short notice, but did the basement bar have to be so dull, so completely lacking in atmosphere, in any Christmas decorations? Could it not have served a more varied menu?
Burgers and - burgers ... Given that the group concerned was coming on from the office on working weekday in December, it was inevitable they would have coats, bags etc - why could cloakroom facilities not be provided? Even a coat rail would have done.”

“Hire out sub-ember for my 26th b'day. The drinks are reasonably priced. It suited me as I wanted to bring my own DJ. Bar staff were friendly, atmosphere was very good and there was good security presence. Manager was helpful. Over-all a very good place to hire out for a party.”

“I have been disappointed with 2 lunches. Service is terribly slow. Today it took them 45 minutes to serve our food, and the restaurant was not even half full. The food was not all that amazing either. And the staff is not very apologetic about getting things wrong. Never again.”

“This bar doesn't have any Jack daniels!! It's too bright. The smoking area (if you can call it that!) is invasive!! The bar service was slow and tiresome. A full bar, 2-3 staff,and we had booked a big crowd!!

Once you've gone through some of the spectacular creations on their customised cocktail menu check out the downstairs club - resident DJs play very danceable house tunes and there's just enough low seating to do all the things you shouldn't...
Ember's evening menu successfully follows the not-so-recent trend of british tapas and the general vibe is less self consciously cool than welcoming to anyone out to have fun.

“Went to Ember to see what all the fuss was about with a night that's hosted there. The night is Fyasco, two young promotors present the evenings every 3 months and we'd heard these guys know how to throw a party. We weren't disappointed. Firstly, the venue is fantastic. Sub-ember provides the back drop and atmosphere ideal for an exclusive intimate party. Secondly, the sound system in there is perfect. Great venue, great party.”

“In an area with stiff competition there is one venue that sticks out...ember. Why? It is an environmentally funky venue with great design and friendly atmosphere. Me and my friends visit ember every time we go out in Farringdon, it is the perfect bar for a great start to a great evening. The staff is always friendly and the service is great. Don't be scared to ask for a proper drink, the staff will happily make you whatever you want, I recommend the Pink Mojito and a shot of Liquid Coke.”

“Popped into Ember last night(Wednesday)during an 8-bar bar-crawl in the Farringdon region. A nice, warm bar with lots of different drink menus, sampled a Martini Bikini which was yummy along with some super nibbly bits which went down very well. Quite quiet, but then it was a Wednesday, the barman seemed to be quite on the ball tho, he was challenging us to drink our martini cocktails without touching the glass or using the straw....he said he would give us a free drink if we managed it but we refrained deciding we didn't really want to look like a pair of wally's! Maybe next time....”
