Gate Bar London Description

The Gate Bar dominates the junction at the heart of Notting Hill and always attracts a great crowd. Relax with a burger or coffee by day or join the party late into the night. The ground floor boasts London's best summer beach bar with tropical flowers, umbrellas and sand! Whilst upstairs there is a sophisticated cocktail bar which is also available for private hire and makes a great spot for parties.

This was the first bar i went to when i got to London in december - was so jetlagged but was dying for a cocktail (I work in a cocktail bar in perth so was interested to see whether or not they could mix them well in the UK!) and mook happened to be less than 50 metres from my hotel so it was perfect-went with my brother had fantastic cocktails-the music and atmostphere were both great and i will definitely go back there next time i'm in London!”

i was going to portabello market, arrived about 12ish to find thousands of tourists also heading for my destination, so after having enough of the tube i dropped into the first place i could to avoid being crushed. thats how i found mook. not difficult to miss being right out side the tube station i had a coffee and my freind couldn't resist a cold pint of san migual. the staff were freindly and polite bringing drinks to the table. we were lucky enough to get one of the 3 sofa's to sink into and enjoy our drinks, other wise the cafe stylee tables were accompanied by black chairs(on wheels?). the bar itself was small but very coolwith a wide selection of spirits on the wall, only 2 draft beers (amstel and san migual not usuall bar stock but a pleasant suprise to see some one doing something different). we were sitting with a reat vantage point to watch all the tourists pass by back and forth to the market, periodicaly browsing the small but exciting food menu and 40 short cocktail menu. we enjoyed the bar so much during the day and had to return in the eveing. the bar changed so much with the sun going down along with the lights.we discovered a lounge bar upstairs with much fukier vibe than down stairs, with a massive sofa curved round the shape of the bar. it was full of unpretentious trendys, all more than willing for a chat, and a dj that was playing a selection classic funk, breakbeat, jazz and touches of electro. we ended up there till it closed at 12. we enjoyed an”
