Although recently changed from a Finnegans Wake to the Gloucester this pub still has friendly staff and a variety of punters ranging from your down to earth locals (they do exist round here) to the American students studying at the local colleges.

This pub serves good pints and food at reasonable prices, in stark contrast to the likes of L’Etranger and Opal immediately opposite, which are aimed at a completely different kind of clientele – those willing to part with a lot of cash.

I spent A LOT of time in this pun when I was studying abroad in Summer '04. Food was great and it was a nice spot between school and my dorm. The staff was pretty awesome in bar AND out. Pat had to close the space upstairs since the apartments were unfit to live in (and tiny as hell!). Definitely stop by this place if you get the chance!”
