Ribbands Notting Hill London Review
When you dine at Ribbands one thing becomes apparent – fine dining is their mantra. A new edition to Notting Hill Gate, Ribbands is the brainchild of Paul Ribband as a top chef at the five star Lanesborough Hotel, Ribband is now the proud owner of his very own slice of dining excellence.
From the very outset the attention to detail is overwhelming – the tables are laid immaculately, the waiters are nothing less than attentive and in true Julia Roberts style my boyfriend asked me, ‘now which fork do I use first?’ We were lucky enough to sample a 7 course meal, carefully planned by the Paul Ribband himself and consisting of a butternut squash soup starter, followed by Carpaccio, scallop, sorbet, a lamb dish for our main, a selection of fine cheeses and a delicious lemon tart desert. Of course in true Ribbands style – each dish was accompanied by a suitable aperitif to compliment each taste.
If you visit Ribbands in the week and order from the set menu a 3 course meal will set you back a mere £24.50 and I can assure you, having sampled the food, that this is excellent value for money. Having read the menu after our meal I still found myself drawn to dishes such as pressed terrine of foie gras and frozen champagne yoghurt and chilled strawberry soup. If you appreciate fine food, excellent service and attentive staff without the extortionate price tag then Ribbands really is a must.

“This place really is a jewel. Value for money is putting it mildly. Food fantastic, staff very friendly and polite. My fiancee and myself wiled 3 blissful hours here. We were amazed at the bill when it arrived, very reasonable for the great service recieved and also in view of the gastronomic delights we sampled. We definitely will be back here!”

“Bellisima! That is all i have to say. Food to die for. A great place to talk, eat or just generally chew the fat from the horrendous day you're having. Whoever the chef is at Ribbands, he is a genius. I am a picky bitch, so to say I did not find anything wrong with the food is an understatement. I loved it! The service was brilliant and could not be faulted. The food was the best food I have had in years and the ambiance was sublime. I shall be going again and again!
