Thai Square Minories (City) London Description
The Thai Square Restaurant Group was founded in 1996 when the first Thai Square opened in The Strand in central London, aimed at serving tasty, authentic Thai food in Thai-inspired surroundings. There are now eight London-based restaurants and one restaurant outside London, in Windsor, which opened in April 2003.
Thai Square uses authentic Thai ingredients freshly flown in daily from Thailand, in a range of exquisite dishes served by their charming and attentive Thai staff. The appeal of Thai cuisine lies in fresh flavours and in featuring some dishes that have a kick of chilli. Diners with a more European taste simply need to ask for their favourite dishes with a less spicy flavour - Thai Square are happy to oblige.
Their extensive menus make good use of the wide variety of fresh produce available from Thailand, including many herbs and spices unknown in this country. All the Chefs at Thai Square are from Thailand and many have joined them from well-known Thai dining establishments.
Thai Square interiors fuse the best of modern European design with elements taken from modern Thai décor and traditional Thai artefacts. Carefully sourced 17th and 18th century Thai Buddhas sit alongside specially made terracotta freezes and stone carving commissioned from craftsmen in Thailand. The ambience in the restaurant is designed to create a warm, friendly, authentic Thai atmosphere.
Thai Square restaurant is open from noon to 11pm, Monday-Friday. Thai Square basement bar is licensed for 240 people until 2am everyday.

My wife and I went there last night 10/12/08, we ordered the set menu at £21.00 each. The starters were fine but we had a long wait until the main course turned up, when it eventually arrived it was cold! The dishes it came in were also cold, I sent it back it arrived 3 mins later boiling hot! By then we had had enough, we asked for the bill-at no time did the waiters ask us what the problem was (and there was plenty of them) I believe our main course was left out & just went cold. With drinks the set meal came to £55.00 plus they added a tip requirement of £6.00, which obviously they did not get. We thought the meal v average more like a chinese than Thai, very very disappointing & the arraogance of the staff was the final straw, nil point!”
