Thai Square Putney Bridge London Description
With panoramic views over the River Thames, Thai Square Putney Bridge is situated in the award winning building of Putney Bridge with an interior designed to create a contemporary Thai theme.
With awards from the Royal Institute of Architecture, the American Institute of Architecture and Wandsworth Corporation, this is one of the most uniquely styled buildings in London. The exterior of this building resembles a ship with metal beams and tall glazed windows allow diners stunning views across the river.
The interior of Thai Square has been redesigned using many antique Thai artefacts. These include eight Buddha's who look on impassively and as tradition dictates, are fed and watered daily. A design of white waves flow over the walls of the sweeping staircase which lead from the reception to the first floor dining area. Behind the elegant ground floor bar the nautical theme is further extended using ropes threaded through timber panels.
The Thai Square bar overlooks the point at which the annual University Boat Race starts and features a full-length balcony where guests can sit and relax at the waters edge. There is an extensive bar menu or a full dining menu.
Thai Square has a Cigar Lounge which is separated from the main body of the bar by sheet glass etched with designs by David Collins offering privacy and relaxation with direct river views. A large selection of some of the finest cigars is also available. This area can be reserved for private parties and functions.

We visited the restaurant on Saturday evening for my husband's birthday.
There was nothing wrong to say about the upstairs service; the food was great, the staff very helpful and quick to serve.
However a very different picture at the downstairs part which becomes a night club at weekends. One of us had mistakingly touched one of the ornaments and was thrown out of the place by a rather angry and pathetic bouncer. The 15 of us (who spent over £600 that night) will definitely never visit that place again, which is a pity but I would argue that however nice the restaurant is, it can be a rather dangerous place!”
