The Cove London Review
The Cove is featured in these Guides:
Set above a pastie shop in the center of Covent Garden Piazza you'd be forgiven for missing The Cove. The style is Cornish (like the pasties) which means low ceilings, Oak beams and rustic furnishings
They've managed to run with the "Pirates of Penzance" theme without making you feel like you're on a plastic ride in disneyland.
The Cove has a fantastic balcony overlooking the Piazza where you can while away the hours watching boys watching girls, watching pigeons, street performers and the world go by; inside there's no shortage of seating and some pretty comfortable looking leather chairs.
The prices are what you'd expect for the location, and there's a good selection of wines behind the bar. The Cove is not an upbeat bar which is something of a rarity in these parts.
The Cove features in Fluids Guide to the Best Beer Gardens in London. To check out the others, click on: Top Beer Gardens in London.

“Been visiting the Cove for years. Went last weekend, and oh dear.....what have they done? Pasty on a grubby plate instead of the traditional paper bag. and........NO ALE!! Oh well, back to Weatherspoons.”

“Went 13/06/09 - didn't open until 12:00 on a warm summers day and then had no beer, just lager - 'nuff said”

“I have been there a couple of times and really liked it.
The low star rating are due to the awful phone call I just had with them.
I called to see if they are open new years eve and if I needed a ticket, took several times to explain what I wanted to know. And then to find out they are closed?! Strange a bar in central london closed?!”

“New owners, and it's changed for the worse. Gone are the attractive bar staff and in comes the dance music. I used to like the bar and went a lot, but it's losing it's unique atmosphere and turning into 'just another London bar' with the generic loud music and poor service.”

“I thought this bar was over priced and the staff were surly - Just another example of a low service high priced venue so prevelent in London”

“Absolute stonker of a find. Don't really want to share it with people as it will spoil it but you go in via the cornish pasty shop on the corner of Covent Garden piazza. Lots of little alcoves, a great terrace, decent selection of brews and very attractive barmaids! Can't ask for much more. Top quality tunes when we were there too - just right for the venue. If you can find the Cove please don't tell the tourists. It's nice to have somewhere so decent to go in amongst the rush of Covent Garden.”

“This pub is the best in Covent Garden - forget the Punch and Judy or Fuel the Cove is the place. Great sfaff (v sexy barmaids), great customers (you'll find yourself talking to loads of different people), great views (over the market square) and great pasties :) The usual range of beers are on offer, but on hot days I'd recommend buying bottles as the draft beers can get a little warm.”

“I was introduced to this place recently. Lovely, small and cosy. There is a balcony overlooking the square. And you can buy a pastie from below, (the Lamb and mint or the Pork and apple are definitely worth a try,) and eat it upstairs with a glass of cornish blonde ale.
