“This place is great. Down to earth atmosphere and really good unpretentious food. Try a burger, chocolate brownie or sticky toffee pudding!
The good thing about it is that it feels good for a casual drink or for a more special night out.
It is a good idea to check when there are plays on if you want a meal for lots of friends or something because it can get really busy.
It's definitely one of my favourite places for a night out for a drink and food.”

“On the strength of the other reviews myself and a couple of mates chose The Cut Bar and Restaurant for a New Year catch-up and started the evening relatively early to avoid the crowds of drinkers that would inevitably descend on the place on a Saturday night.
It IS an impressive space - bars on ground and mezzanine levels, high ceilings, big windows, lots of wood, plenty of trendy-looking furniture, so far so good. We headed upstairs so we could survey the masses of eclectic-looking drinkers and settled down with bottles of Corona (only bottled beer on offer, draft beer only available downstairs).
8pm, Saturday night and the place was virtually empty. We moved downstairs to soak up what little atmosphere radiated from the dozen or so other drinkers and took an Ikea-wobbly table complete with wobbly chairs. At this point it may be worth reminding you that this is a theatre bar. That explains the popcorn machine which, despite its compact size, managed to fill half the downstairs bar with the smell of popcorn. We had thought of having some food, a handful of the other punters were eating, but the popcorn ruined our appetite.
At 8.30 the place was absolutely heaving. It was unbelievable. Kids everywhere. Jumping on the trendy furniture, fighting over the popcorn, within 5 minutes we were completely surrounded and could barely hear ourselves think.
As I said, this is a theatre bar. And if you're looking for atmosphere it may be worth checking the production and when”

“If you are looking for a new type of venue with an ecclectic, good-looking crowd, this is the new hang-out on the South Bank. As its set within the new Young Vic Theatre building, you get a creative vibe, set off by great music, a bar on two levels with an outside terrace next to an upstairs cocktail bar. This is the real gem, the upstairs bar feels exclusive and the barmen really know their stuff. Food was just what you feel like at the end of a busy day...either easy healthy snacks or fish and chips. At last, Waterloo finally has a bar which can match any other north of the river.”
