The name Roadhouse says it all. Found in a basement by Covent Garden market this is an American 1950’s styled bar with an American dinner on the side of an expansive bar floor. We couldn’t find any real bikers but bikes are a solid theme; all puzzlingly imported from Argentina there's a 1952 Harley Davidson sitting proudly above the bar and more spread around the place. An added bonus (if you’re into this) are the leather clad flair bartenders flipping and occasionally dropping the odd bottle - all for your amusement.
Now the important bit: the drink deals. To be honest you’ll be hard pushed to find anywhere around Covent Garden where you could drink cheaper. Take along someone you want to get seriously inebriated with.
Bell suspended above the bar promotes the American tip happy culture – pay the man.

“We went to the Roadhouse to celebrate my husband's birthday with about 50 guests. The staff inside were very nice and helpful. You have to pay £50 deposit if you want to have dinner on a table. The food came quickly, the portions were quite generous...but, the drinks were a bit overpriced, despite having advertised "happy hour", they were only £1 less than normal price.
Upon leaving the club, quite early even that, the bouncers started insulting us. When I asked one of them their name, he replied "Thomas the Tank engine" which got me even more shocked at their behaviour. So it really spoilt a nite for us which we wanted to remember in a fond way... I will NEVER go back there to the behaviour of the bouncers, nor EVER recommend anyone to go there either.”

“Seriously, I am very worried that this dive comes second on your places to go list, I feel this reflects badly on your site as a whole- at least read the reviews others give it. I used to live round here and it a complete pariah in terms of entertainment drinks and class. If you're looking for a tacky neonlit dive to hoast your essex themed hen night then welcome to mecca.”

“The smell was overwhealming when we arrived but you got used to it. We were with a hen party and had a set meal platter of over cooked greasy crap followed by a main not as bad as starter. When the bill came £40 service had been added and then by us removed! Music was good so our advice was drink dont eat.”

“I went to the Roadhouse with high hopes after reading the reviews on Fluid Style. But it is a tourist trap that serves diluted cocktails and the food is a joke (£12.95 for a chicken fajita with three tiny strips of chicken). After two margaritas and a fajita each we left sober and nearly £60 poorer. I recommend Cafe Pacifico, nearby, as being superior in all aspects.”

“I recently celebrated my sis hen night in the roadhouse and i was very disappointed, the food wasn't very nice and was really over priced, it was also so packed you couldn't even move on the dancefloor and they were still letting people in - definitely wouldn't go again.”

“Has to be the best bar in London. Get there early to avoid the queue and cover charge. Early doors means cocktails for around £3 and discounts on the food menu. Pace yourself ... steak now, nachos later. It's amazing with only 4 bartenders working on the main bar I didn't wait once for a drink. He took 3 other orders as well as mine all night long, constantly doing bar tricks as well. I only went in to meet some mates for a couple of beers. Ended up missing last tube because the band ROCKED. Always stay for the second set. Organizing work do there. Check it out.”

“To say this is value for money is a joke. No beer taps therefore forced to drink more expensive drinks and quicker. Spirits are blatantly watered down as well. Bouncers are over zealous. Other than that perfectly good place.”

“Roadhouse goes off, get in early for no door charge cos it does get full, drinks are cheapest around Covent Garden and they have a bonus late night happy hour from 10pm til 11pm. The barstaff are unbelievable with their flair skills, they hold a competition every month where other bartenders come to take them on. Great music - bit of everything, even have live bands recommend you check it out.”

“Awesome !! Went there last Friday had a fantastic time with some work friends, just caught the end of their happy hour (5.30-7.30 !), a beer for £1.80 and cocktail for less than £3 which was a bonus. We also had some food in there American diner which was great value for money, tasty and we were served by a really great waiter. As the night went on and got busier we were delighted when a band came on at around 10.30, played a really good mix of tunes, went off then came back on after a break then played a fantastic 2nd set which got everyone in the venue rocking to. When the band went off a dj took over a played until 3am. All our party(aged 22-35) stayed until the end and agreed that it was the best staff night out we've had in ages, we thought the security staff were the most friendly and professional even encountered. Well done Roadhouse !!!”

“this is one of my favourite places to get smashed in london (although the bouncers will throw you out if you find yourself bouncing off people on the dancefloor!)
i've always enjoyed the music there, the coctails are superb, and the barstaff more then happy to exersize artistic liscence if you want something a bit special.
pop in next time you are in the area.”

“Live music late license the cocktail menu is the size of a Dickens noval. Shit this place is so good it sells its on mechandise and holds its own cocktail flair competition. Not bad for a place the size of your local pub and is probably the cheapest to get a drink in covent garden especially during their happy hour”
