The Triangle Bar & Restaurant London Description
The Triangle Bar and Restaurant in Crouch End offers an eclectic fusion menu with an exciting combination of Oriental, Mediterranean and modern British cuisine.
Conveniently situated between Crouch Hill tube and Harringay railway stations, The Triangle has a relaxed and friendly ambience with a decor to match. The warm, intimate feel of the restaurant is an ideal accompaniment to the creative menu, further enhanced by the cosy, exquisite conservatory and garden.
The inventive selection of main courses includes such innovative delights as Moroccan Fish Tagine with potatoes and peppers gratin, Spanish Seafood Paella with chicken, and Chicken Roulade with halloumi cheese. There is also a delectable selection of wines to choose from, not to mention some truly classic cocktails for you to enjoy!

“This Moroccan fusion restaurant-bar was founded by the two brothers in 1999. Saturated red walls and a gentle aroma of incense greet you in and a personal welcome by the owner most of the times is one gesture of thoughtfulness among many: candles cast a soft light, and each dish is a creative blend as well as a course in its own right. Boneless steamed chicken with sweet mango and chilli salsa was a toothsome starter. A succulent main of sea bream baked in banana leaf was nicely offset by fennel salad and coconut rice, while grilled ostrich was spiced up with sticky soy and served with fragrant Thai basil rice. Softly spoken waitress brought pleasing extras such as bread and olives sprinkled with cumin powder; If there’s two of you, try to book the cushion seating for more theatrical effect.”

“Prepare to be transported to another world. Inside this palace of curiosities between Crouch End and Finsbury Park, with its rich fabrics, beaten metalwork, glowing candles and enchanting alcoves is a food-lover's heaven. Moroccan-inspired but with elements of Asian, European and even Australasian cuisine, the menu is as eclectic as the decor. We ate sardine salad with couscous - the fish moist with a perfectly crispy exterior, the couscous tender and spicy - then Thai green chicken curry, once again the ideal heat, texture and taste. My companion's sirloin steak had a garnish of ginger which had her squeaking with pleasure.
Owner Aziz Begdouri and His brother Youssef devised both the exotic interior (including a surreal bed with furniture stuck to the ceiling) and the funky fusion menu, having been a chef in both his native Morocco and in London. Triangle won Archant's Best Moroccan restaurant in London award in 2006, best Chef in 2007 and Best themed restaurant in 2008.
Combined with the chilled world music, the gracious and happy service, the small but idyllic covered garden, the low-level den where you sit cross-legged on cushions, the inventive wine list (try the Moroccan sauvignon blanc - it's knockout) and the plethora of intricate, lovingly worked details everywhere you look, this is a stunning triumph of a restaurant.”

“Excellent Restaurant for a Main meal, all staff were really friendly and helpful. The menu is suitable for all tastes (absolutely delicious) and pricing was good too! We reserved a table and although we arrived a little late, they were still very accommodating, as we were, when they mentioned that they needed our table for a large party arriving in the next 15 minutes. Everything about our dining out experience was great and I would highly recommend to everyone. All in all we had a fabulous Dinner out and will definitely be going back.”

“Why is the Triangle one of my favourite restaurants? Because when I go out for a meal, I like to eat food that is imaginative, interesting – and, of course, tasty. What I particularly like about the menus is that they are not tied to any specific theme or nationality; each dish seems to have been carefully and individually thought out so that the style of cooking, herbs, spices and accompaniments have been used to bring the best out in the ingredients. My last meal there, for example, I would imagine zigzagged across the globe in terms of origin – crispy spring rolls with chilli dip, goat curry with mango rice, the famous Triangle Baileys cheesecake, accompanied by a New World wine and Chinese beer.
Because I can meet friends for Sunday breakfast at 11 am – and the Triangle’s Moroccan version of a full English breakfast has to be tried to be believed! Then, if the weather is nice, we can go for a walk in Alexandra Park, or go blackberry picking; if it’s miserable, or we haven’t yet run out of conversation, we can stay on, maybe having a dessert and/or light starter with a glass or two of wine.
Because of the extra touches, often of his own invention, that Aziz introduces into his dishes; for example: water melon in the stir-fried noodles, parsnip crisp garnish, mushrooms marinaded before cooking so they taste "like mushrooms used to taste"; the delicate long strips of salted cucumber.”

Formerly WXD and resembling a crap art gallery, this place has been given a new lease of life by Morroccan chef, Aziz. I used to go to Banners for the slightly bohemian Crouch End vibe, but this place is better and the staff are friendly, helpful and QUICK ! Daytimes it's a sleepy, quiet cafe - great for meetings and newspaper dozing - love that scrambled eggs and salmon in a small toasted baguette with rocket salad. Evenings it becomes a moody hangout with hundreds of candles, a real fire and very classy ambient ethnic dance music. Settling into one of the huge leather settees makes it quite possible to lose all track of time and space - especially when Aziz has one of his impromptu lock-ins. There's also live music on Sunday evenings which often turn into spontaneous collaborations with some of the well known musicians and actors which have adopted this place in the last year. Neil Morrissey loves it (not sure if that is a compliment or not). Anyway - I'm hooked - can't stay away which is burning a bit of a hole in my wallet, although I'm willing to pay up for a place this good. I've met so many interesting people there and it's given a much needed sense of community for young adults this side of the broadway. Fantastic. seb”

“It pays to talk to your neighbours. I recently found myself locked out and had no choice but to go to the pub. I got talking to a couple of regulars, who informed me of an excellent Moroccan restaurant right on our doorstep. I made the trip to The Triangle’s unlikely location: fresh out of Fez on a quiet street corner in Haringey. Inside are more surprises than you’d get in a carpet shop posing as a great view of the city: a mud-hut terrace bar; a mirror-walled open fire; exquisite dishes including a Thai green curry served with lime and a slice of grilled halloumi (not very Marrakesh but it went down a dream) and a whole room hanging upside down from the ceiling. Yes, a room hanging upside down from the ceiling. Good things can happen when you get locked out.”

“This shabby triangular building houses one of the most original venues in North London, the exterior giving little clue to the delights inside. Coming in somewhere between a Morrocan palace and a final-year art project, the most distinctive feature of this bar and restaurant is its installation, featuring a raffia motorbike, a laid table, a bed and a shopping bag… all stuck to the ceiling. On the real floor, the mirrored fireplace, metal furniture, hanging plants and numerous candles make for a surprisingly intimate feel. Towards the back patrons, cross-legged on the raised floor, tuck into meals from a catholic menu. Serious drinkers might complain about the absence of draught beers and the small wine list, but there's a good selection of bottled beers, including Kirin and Casablanca. And for sheer sensory overload, it's definitely worth a visit. ”

“My partner and I have been enjoying the excellent food, drink and 'unique' atmosphere of The Triangle since it opened. It's one of our favourite restaurants to take friends and family. No matter how many times you visit this restaurant there is always something new/previously missed to catch your eye. Friendly staff deliver a good service and creator and restaurateur, Azis, is simply 'the icing on the cake'.”

“If you’re in need of a night out at a fabulous place with guaranteed fabulous food and atmosphere and lashings of individuality, you need to get to The Triangle. This popular little hideaway is an absolute gem of a restaurant that nestles snugly between Crouch End and Finsbury Park and the moment you walk through the door your every sense is stimulated. A unique and absolutely stunning bar/restaurant run by Aziz Begdouri, I had the pleasure of being introduced to the place 5 years ago, when it first opened, and, quite simply, I haven’t found better. The décor is warm, inviting, a seamless blend of art from all over the world, lush plants, fountains in the windows (yes, really), a roaring fire in the winter and in the summer a simply exquisite garden that features a kind of. …well, I don’t even know that there’s a word for it, you’ll just have to go and see for yourself. Oh, and did I mention the upside-down bedroom on the ceiling…?”

“Although this place seems to be in the middle of nowhere it is definately worth finding it. It is a beautiful yet decadent Moroccan style restaurant/bar. Wonderful decor including interesting things on walls/ceiling to look at (rugs, porcelain heads etc) it also has a small cave like area at the back full of cushions and low tables. Almost all the light is from hundreds of candles in the walls and on the tables which casts an atmospheric glow over the whole venue. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food looked varied and amazing (although I didn''''t eat dinner there), they serve simple cocktails and have a good selection of wine. This place is perfect for couples or friends to enjoy a spicy evening out.”
