The Sun London Review
Located in the square of Clapham Old Town, the Sun has got that groovy cool Claphamest feel about it.
With a large beer garden and a second floor providing sofas and a bar, this pub caters for all those that live too far away from The Falcon (in Clapham North) but wish to drink in a similar atmosphere.
Food is Thai orientated with Phat Kee Mao (noodle dish with choice of meat) at £5.50. Only criticism of the Sun is that it hasn't got a late license.
Check out other pubs in the Clapham Old Town area: the happening Calf, the random Prince of Wales and the love it or hate it Frog and Forget Me Not.

“avoid - the only word about this place. lack of maintance, specially the gents toilet, managers don't care, they are only interested in figures (money, money, money). far too many staff, no training, no concept.”

“This pub is a fitting reflection of Clapham generally. The only explanation for its popularity is that people go there because they lack the imagination to go anywhere else and it's where all their equally unimaginative friends go.”

“The phrase "victim of its own success" could have been coined with The Sun in mind. This would be a great pub if only it weren't so damn popular!
In the summer, especially, the beautiful people descend here en masse, after sunning themselves on the Common all day, and consequently it is packed to the rafters by 7:00 p.m. at the latest.
The categories for rating the pub do not allow the full picture to be painted, since the atmosphere is always alive due to the number of people drinking there on the terrace etc. Equally, the range and choice of drinks is much the same as any other pub of its sort in London. The problem lies in the fact that you can quite easily find yourself waiting for half an hour to get served. And there's the rub.
My friends and I often just avoid this place nowadays, because you end up spending so much of your evening either waiting to be served at the bar, or waiting empty-handed in the beer garden, while your mates are at the bar.
A shame, but there you have it. If you find yourself in this position, I suggest either a quick walk up the road (towards the tube station) to the Frog and Forget-me-not, or down the road (away from tube) to The Calf, both of which are decent boozers, and very rarely get so heaving as the Sun.”
