The Lamb & Flag London Review
The Lamb & Flag is featured in these Guides:
The Lamb and Flag has been hidden down Rose Street for over 300 years, and as you come in for a drink, you get the impression not much has changed. Inside, the main bar area is quite small, but there's a restaurant and second bar upstairs. The old fashioned "wooden-everything" style and low ceilings gives the Lamb & Flag a healthy, lived in feel - no need to take your shoes off at the door.
Although frequented by a slightly older crowd during the winter, the Lamb and Flag wakes up when the sun shines. Due to it's location at pride of place in Rose Street, the management rope off all the way down to the main street, and it becomes one of the greatest locations in Covent Garden for people of all types to stand outside with a pint in one hand, chatting to friends.

“One of the old traditional pubs of London still going strong which is great to see. One of the best places to grab a seat is in the large window, can watch the world as it passes as you sip on your pint, a perfect pub.”

“I've been in this pub several times, mainly for Sunday lunch - a sort of carvery with normally beef, pork or chicken + veg - and I have to really recommend the food highly as well as the reasonable prices. The pub itself is difficult to describe. A cross between a private club and an old fashioned restaurant. It is very quaint and the xmas decorations a bit over the top! I'll be back soon.”

“You have a great spot for the pause that refreshes, have been coming in for a lot of years, we know on site the lady bartender "jean" i think. We always stay at the fielding. Love the lunchtime crowd - does anyone go back to work??? I would not want to leave the premises, we only wish we had an authentic lamb and flag here.
thnx for being a friendly stop for the weary wanderer.”

“Granted, this place can be fun on a summer evening with lots of space to stand outside and plenty of passing traffic as people squeeze down the alleyway on one side of the pub.
However, the beer is nearly always flat (which I suppose matters more or less depending on what your choice of drink is) and the bar staff are on the unfriendly side of grumpy.
Within Covent Garden this is certainly a better pub that most others, but still, that ain't saying much.”
